HISTORICAL INTRODUCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is one of the oldest parts of Sanl\u00facar. It used to be protected by a wall during medieval times, parts of which you can still observe nowadays.<\/p>\n

Beginning of the route: <\/strong>Las Covachas, Cuesta Belen Street.<\/p>\n

A. The Covachas<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

15th<\/sup> Century. Late gothic style. Stone decoration on one of the walls of the Medina Sidonia Ducal Palace.<\/p>\n

B. La Merced Auditorium<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

17th<\/sup> Century. Proto-Baroque style. Former Church of the Mercederians Convent.<\/p>\n

C. Orle\u00e1ns Borb\u00f3n Palace \u2013 City Hall<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

19th<\/sup> Century. Nowadays it is the City Hall. Neo-Medujar Style. Summer residence of the Dukes of Montpensier.<\/p>\n

Caballeros Street<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lovely street where you can find 17th<\/sup> to 19th<\/sup> century stately homes.<\/p>\n

Caridad Street<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can find different houses that belonged to the Merchants of the Americas. 18th<\/sup> Century.<\/p>\n

D. Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de la Caridad (Our Lady of Charity) Basilica<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

17th<\/sup> Century. Mannerist style. Home of the Patroness of Sanl\u00facar, the Virgen of Caridad (Charity).<\/p>\n

E. Rota Gateway<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Former gateway through the walls of the city of Sanl\u00facar, built between the 13th<\/sup> and 15th<\/sup> Century<\/p>\n

\u00a0F.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Las Descalzas Convent<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

17th<\/sup> Century. Has a very interesting and permanent Religious Arts Exhibit with silverworks, paintings and imageries.<\/p>\n

G. San Miguel (Saint Michael) Church<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

17th<\/sup> Century. Baroque Style.<\/p>\n

Jerez Street<\/strong><\/p>\n

14th\u00a0Century. With a noteworthy Mudejar-style exterior fa\u00e7ade, magnificent coffered ceiling inside and images such as the Christ of Vera Cruz.<\/p>\n

15th\u00a0Century. Renaissance style. Residence of the Dukes of Medina Sidonia.<\/p>\n

J. Cilla (Tithe Barn) House<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We can observe part of the medieval wall. 13th<\/sup> to 15th<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n

15th<\/sup> Century. Sanl\u00facars\u00b4 defensive fortress where you can see the Homenaje (Tribute) Tower.<\/p>\n

M. San Diego (Saint Didacus) Church<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

17th<\/sup> Century. Former convent of the Didacus Monks.<\/p>\n

\u00a0N.<\/span><\/strong> Manzanilla Museum.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Located in the Barbadillo Bodegas (Wineries). This exhibit explains the aging process of the Manzanilla Wine.<\/p>\n
